Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need a referral from my family physician to see a clinician at Toronto Psychologists?

No, a referral from your family physician is not necessary in order to see a clinician at Toronto Psychologists. Contact the practice directly at

416-549-5060 or by email at info@TorontoPsychologists.com to schedule an appointment.

  • What is the fee for therapy sessions? Is the fee covered by OHIP?

For information about our current fees, please contact us directly. The fees for services at Toronto Psychologists are consistent with guidelines outlined by the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA).

While psychological services are not covered by OHIP, they are often covered by your private insurance plan, work benefits package, or employee assistance program. The remaining non-reimbursed fees may be claimed as a medical expense on your tax returns.

  • How do I pay for therapy?

Payments are made by e-transfer, Mastercard, Visa or debit Visa/Mastercard at the end of each appointment. Receipts for services are provided. As per the cancellation policy there is a fee for missed appointments, unless you have provided us with a 48-hour notice.

  • How long are sessions?

A therapy session is 50 minutes in duration. The 50-minute therapy session is commonly referred to as the “therapy hour”.

  • How frequently are sessions scheduled?

Initially, clients find weekly appointments are most beneficial. However, you can decide with your therapist what is best for you and schedule your sessions to meet your needs and finances. Typically, as clients make treatment progress their sessions will decrease in frequency. There is no commitment for ongoing therapy.

  • What is the cancelation policy?

If you need to cancel an appointment, we do require a 48-hour notice. A full session fee will be applied for appointments cancelled less than 48 hours in advance and for missed appointments.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact your therapist directly.

  • Do you provide therapy in languages other than English?

Yes, we do provide therapy in foreign languages. Collectively our team currently provides services in Greek, French, Hindi, and Punjabi.
